HANDMADE ANALOG PEDAL

Germanium Boost (OC71)

NOS Transistor · Point-to-Point Wired

$89.99

Vintage germanium character — the warm, slightly compressed boost that defined early British rock tone.

The Germanium Boost is a hand-built treble booster based on the classic Beano-era circuit, using a genuine Mullard OC71 germanium transistor.
Designed to push an amp—not replace it—this pedal tightens the low end, adds harmonic bite, and brings out the natural breakup of tube amps. It’s extremely touch-responsive and cleans up beautifully with your guitar’s volume knob.

vintage character. modern reliability.

Germanium transistors haven’t been manufactured in decades. The ones that remain are finite, unpredictable, and irreplaceable — and that is exactly what makes them special.

Each transistor is individually tested for leakage and gain before it is selected for a build. The slight variations in germanium behavior — the warmth, the sag, the way it compresses at the edge of breakup — are features, not flaws. This is tone you cannot dial in with a plugin.

The Germanium Boost is designed to push your amp’s front end without imposing itself too soon. It stays transparent until it doesn’t — and when it begins to break up, it blooms rather than clips.
